Abba – father

This poem goes out to some of the least celebrated people on earth There is a reason for the lack of celebration, but without them

We all would not be here, and our cries would not be heard Without them, the dresses would be stripped from the helm

Father, how I miss you

You were there through thick and thin

I can’t remember hearing you tell me you loved me, but I knew I was not your foe

I disliked how you bragged to your friends about me, but I always knew you were my kin

It has been over a decade since you crossed over

Oh, what a day that was when mom told me the news

It was a mere seven months since I buried my sweetheart and felt a bulldozer my life ran over And you decided to join her and caused us mews

Father, papa, daddy

From you, I learnt so much

If you were still alive, I would be so happy

And to date, you are still my reference when times are harsh

You were no saint

But from challenges, you did not faint You never left us

To us, you were a strong mast

Celebrate your parents

If you still have them around Give them many presents

So, when they are gone, you don’t cry aloud
