When the water runs dry

We sometimes look for it in the wrong places

We look down and we look high

But in both places, we find hostile faces

Water, we find in unsuspected venues

Where being human is of natural hues

I used to think that friendship was solid as a rock

But I have since learnt that the ship of friends sometimes hit the rocks

Only brotherhood is steadier than granite

And sisterhood mightier than the darkness of the night

I write this to thank my brethren

In whose hands I can comfortably surrender my breath

Folks who gave their last

To save me very fast!
